In which our hero tries out her new bike
(Insert image of Chunk struggling to climb a giant hill on his bike and complaining because he had been promised a Twinkie in exchange for this feat.)

Randy and I just returned from our excursion out to Wiscoy Pet Shop and back. Total: about six miles including some nice hills. I hadn't ridden that far, well, ever and I hadn't been practicing biking at all, so I felt slow and wobbly. After we figured out that the seat was too low and fixed it, it helped, but still, I need to build up the requisite quad endurance if I want to bike well. And I do...Randy enjoys this mode of transportation, and it is a challenging no-impact workout. Time to flop on the couch with a book...

really? 6 miles?
You sure that was 6 miles? seemed less to me.

I like any bike trip that has fuzzy creatures at both ends. You forgot to say something about the cat we saw.

Re: really? 6 miles?
That was your guesstimation, silly ogre. According to Mapquest and my guesstimation using the scale attached to the map, it was about 3 1/2 miles to Wiscoy using the back roads. The way home was shorter and faster because we took a more direct route and were going downhill more. So it does make sense to me.

And yes, I did forget to mention Salome, the adorable adoptable rumblefluff with the large white mittens. I did tell several cat people about her today, though. ^_^

So I found your LJ through a link about Elysium. Are you still interested in writing adventure games, or tools to implement adventure games?

You have lots of similar interests as me! :-)

Yes, I am...but I forgot where I left off. I really ought to pick up that old project again soon. I was having fun with it before my hard drive crashed and ate a bunch of my source code. (And then I got busy with work and didn't really feel like programming much in my spare time. Blargh.)

Nice to meet you! ^_^
