How's this for an interesting cosplay idea...

...duct tape Lu Bu! Yes, really. For the chosen medium, he did a mexcellent job. He got the shape of the various pieces of the outfit and the character is easily recognizable, and the bright colors give it an interestingly cartoonish or spritelike look.

I saw that! I have to admit I was thinking of putting him in the Bad Cosplay Awards, but I'd feel bad about doing that given your compliment. ^_^;

Nah, it's all good...we all have a right to our opinion about costumes. ^_^ I just have to give props to people who use really ghetto materials like garbage bags and duct tape for fun (from the guy's post in the Dynasty Warriors thread on cosplay.com, I gathered that that was what he was doing) and manage to achieve pretty good results with them (Anne Packrat's infamous garbage bag Lulu actually has a better belt skirt than more than one non-joke Lulu I've seen). I generally put Amusing Ghetto Cosplay in a different category from, say, Kentucky Fried Ass. ("Golly...a baroque satin Inuyasha would look SMASHING! And I won't even need to hem the pants if I just tuck them into my sneakers!")

Saw him at Anime Central, and I thought it was a not-bad outfit. Definitely better than some others I saw.
