Except for the single row of stitching that I can't do until after I know how wide the belt will be, I'm done sewing those patterned sashes, and or the most part, I am very proud of their construction. They match up perfectly at the top, the rectangular one is actually rectangular, the slight irregularities in the pointy sash's edge finish (trying to crisply fold under multiple layers of denim at a point = teh sux) will be hidden by metal, and I even managed to flat fell the seam where they join, which is a first for me. It took a while (especially because I didn't trust myself to topstitch evenly 1/8" from the edge of something with the foot pedal, so I handwheeled it...I topstitched the entire rectangular sash evenly with the foot pedal, so I figured I deserved to putz along with caution for this one seam), but it's secure and actually pretty even. OK, the end is wonky because I had trouble creasing three layers of denim under, but it really isn't going to go anywhere and I can always redo that part if it really bugs me. Stef, if you're reading this and about to make fun of me for using such a time-consuming seam finish on a costume accessory...well, uh...I peed in your pool! So there! *tbbbbbpppt*
