The Happy Valley Monocloud is hanging over our heads today
We took a day trip to Pittsburgh yesterday for silverluz's second wedding reception. (Her wedding took place in St. Louis, which is preeeeetty far away for many of us.) It was great - classy location, yummy food, lots of time for socializing and catching up. Our table consisted of the happy couple, Randy and myself, and Trevor, who we hadn't seen in literally years. There were just two problems with yesterday:

- Having to get up at 8 on only a few hours of sleep. (Argh, iTunes is too much fun to play with...and our mp3 collection's tags need SO much work to get them to a point where they'll be useful to the application...)
- Consuming too much sweet sweet junk food. We had to stop a few times for gas, bathroom breaks, drinks, and whatnot, and the good stuff at Sheetz tempted me way more than it should have. At least I learned something. Those Krispy Kreme NY cheesecake donuts really do have cheesecake-ish filling.

Well, I'm treating that latter thing as a fitting end to refeeding and then getting sick and falling off the wagon and not feeling up to working out hard for most of the rest of the week. At least I think I got all the junk eating out of my system for a while. I did get rid of the ballast I put on while bulking, and my hips are only 1/2" bigger than they were last May, but I'm not quite where I want to be, and I've been spinning my wheels for a while. Last year, I did high-intensity interval training at least once a week in the form of all-out sprints on the elliptical trainer. I haven't been doing anything like that consistently this year, and that seems to be the missing piece of the puzzle. Running is fun and it does increase metabolism somewhat, but for my body, I don't think there's any real substitute for HIIT. I want to keep working with the Tabata squats, too, but I really do need one all-out sprint session per week. And, of course, there's the food planning issue to deal with as well. I do keep track of my caloric intake during the week, and that's generally in order, but I tend to eat too many treats on the weekends. Argh. I'll get Humpty back together again... >_<

What's Trevor up to these days?

Trevor is living in Downingtown, working on his writing and thinking about running for local office (I think he specifically mentioned the state congress - from what I recall, nobody even runs for that in his area except Republicans, so he hopes to provide an alternative choice). He's becoming very politically active in general as well.

Totally offtopic to your post - sorry - but skurtchasor indicated that he'd like the remaining eps of Samurai Champloo and that I should go through you to contact him. As I have neither his email nor yours, can you provide me with his email? My email is crawlybug at gmail dot com. Thank you!

Sorry, I thought that arafel was one of the State College crowd. Please don't post my email address here on LJ, I'll send that email to arafel.

Don't worry...I don't even know your email offhand, and I definitely wouldn't post it publicly without asking first. The last thing you probably need is more Your penis is so small Elijah emails. If anything, I would have sent an email to her with the addy.

That's pretty much what I was after you for. *grins*
