My Plate Mates came in the mail just in time for heavy incline dumbbell press day. I can't wait to try them out. I got four 5/8 pounders and four 1 1/4 pounders.

I decided to further indulge my newfound appreciation for high-quality microbrew beer and pick up a case of Old Horizontal. It's a winter brew with fruity flavor and a very short period of availability and it's reputed to age very well, so why not? I figured that on the off-chance I didn't like it, I could always dispose of it at one of rewtroy's parties. I tried a bottle, and it's partially responsible for my current mood. Ahhhhhh. And I will certainly not be disposing of it. My fancy beer! Mine!

I ran/walked (mostly ran) 1 1/2 miles at the track on Monday. I wanted to go longer, but it got dark. Blergh. At least the weather was OK and the track conditions were fine. There were a couple of patches of snow, but they were easily avoided, and though the track was wet, it wasn't slippery at all. Hooray for well-engineered polyurethane running surfaces. I can't wait until the weather is warmer and the days are longer so I can run outside more often. My next cardio workout will probably be HIIT at the gym.

I'm putting the final touches on my butterfly barrette tonight. The hobby store sells strips of brass in different gauges already bent lengthwise into a 90-degree angle, which turned out to be just what I needed to attach the hair combs to the back. I mounted them on the inner halves of the wings at an angle so they follow the curve of my head, and I can actually stick the piece into my hair and have it stand up without assistance. It's not secure that way because it's just sort of stuck there temporarily, but that gives me the impression that it will behave wonderfully once sewn into my wig. w00t. Now I just have to glue the green gem onto the center, but that's going to have to wait until the beer leaves my system. =P

Gah...six more months to finish the rest of everything...it sounds like forever, but believe me, it's not. I have to put at least ten hours of work in each week or else I'm going to get into time crunch hell like I did last year.
