Smashy smashy
The mood is due to my celebrating the end of this weekend at the bowling alley. Weeeeeee. My bowling was average, but Nick joined us this time, so it was extra fun. Our theme was military UNIX jokes. I got to be General Fault. Rando was Kernel Panic. w00t.

I just took some drastic measures with my pauldron. Its flatness was really irritating me (I'm not spending this much time on the costume to have something that looked so inaccurate from the side and would be such a pain to fit over my shoulder), so I broke it. Constructively. I ran water over each side and bent it in sharply, cracking the clay. The result fits my shoulder a hell of a lot better, and because I spackled the busted parts pretty well (wedging clay into the cracks and covering them), it will look fine once I sand it. It took far less time than trying to rebuild the entire thing (which I really didn't want to do). I'm now glad that I didn't work on the second one at the same time. Now I can make it look similar from the beginning and not have to break it at any time during the clay-covering process.

I am going to get this costume done for ACEN. It is going to be beautiful. I can do it. I will do it. I'm determined.
