Hey kids! I bet you're wondering what happened to good old Uncle G-funk. Well, my company revamped one of its major offerings (and I got to redesign one of its modules all by myself, which was both a blessing and a curse - as Nick put it, the old version was like a Lego house made with bricks from about 800 different sets, and I made it all cleaned up and stuff, but it was a lot of work for one person to do, and its newfound flexibility gives its code a steep learning curve, which makes it a royal pain in the ass to develop for if you weren't the person who built it). At any rate, management has decided to roll it out this Sunday, so we've all been scrambling...and, of course, this week, my body decided that it would be fun to come down with a nasty cold. I snuffled through four hours of work on Thursday before deciding to go home and conk out. I'm almost better now but not quite.

A bunch of us (myself included) came in today. I got there at 10 expecting to stay until 4, and I didn't leave until 8. I am getting overtime for that, though, so I'm not going to bitch too much. I have to finish up my stuff tomorrow, and after that is bowling. I don't think I need to elaborate on how much ass bowling kicks, so I'm just thinking of that and being happy.

I did get to do some more sanding today. This time, I got the brilliant idea to pick up some coarser sandpaper. Now that really does the trick. My last application of clay decided to crack in a couple of spots (blergh), but after I fill those in, that should be it for the base coat. I still need to put the little 3-D circular ring on, but I don't anticipate that being difficult. And then I get to figure out how the hell this thing is supposed to stay on my shoulder - it turned out flatter and more open than I'd intended it to, but I can get it to fit snugly if I put some padding underneath, and it does like to sit in a way that it would stay on with an elastic strap running vertically around my armpit, so it looks like I have an answer. I hope.

And then I get to do the other one. *sigh*
