Fun with clay
~2 hours of hibernating in the bathroom (the one place in the house where I can close the door for a while and easily clean up messes) produced the following:

The back side of the shoulder piece still needs to be covered, and the whole shebang will be heavily sanded when I'm done with it...but the horn has been fully clayed, and it looks done from the front, so I figured I might as well post a pic. *is proud* ^_^

Oh. my. gosh. That looks amazing, Rydain. I can't wait until it's painted *_* Man... it's going to look so beautiful. What kind of clay did you use?

Thanks! ^_^ That's paper clay, a most nifty sculpting medium. It feels and behaves like normal clay, but it air dries hard and light (no firing is necessary, but you can put it in the oven if you don't want to wait) and can be sanded and carved when it's dry. I got the idea from Little Star, who made her AWESOME Berserker Paine armor using this technique (and was nice enough to tell me how she made it when I PM'ed her and asked about it).
