Yes, I have been working out, just not much this week thanks to the damn snow. My left elbow has decided to be cranky - I had to dig out the front of the driveway when I got home from work today, and it started acting up during that procedure - which pisses me off because I don't know what's wrong and I'm afraid it's going to ruin my upper body lifts when I get back to the gym tomorrow. If a knee gets randomly grouchy in the gym, all I have to do is stretch my hip flexors gently, and voila - no more owies. Also, this doesn't happen nearly as often as it used to because I've been diligent about stretching my lower body at home. I wish there were something similar I could do for my arm. I never really stretched my upper body because I only knew a few stretches, but I looked up some more and started doing them tonight. I've also been icing my elbow, massaging around it (there seems to be a nasty trigger point right above the elbow on the outside of my arm), and taking glucosamine pills, ibuprofen (in case it's a problem with inflammation), and 2 tablespoons of flax oil daily. I do rotator cuff exercises, too (I've read that a screwy cuff can cause pain in your arm or upper back), and they don't hurt or feel wrong at all, but I think I might need to move up to the 2-pound dumbbells. I can always bring in my amusing pink 1-pounders to use as paperweights. =P

The funny thing is that it did this last year around this time, and then the pain went away in the spring. I still have no idea why.
