Plans for Otakon 2004
I like FFX-2. I like interestingly-designed animal character costumes (many of which happen to be skimpy, but that's besides the point). Thus, my next cosplay project will be...

Yes, this is going to involve a hell of a lot of work, but I'm up for it. It doesn't seem to be a commonly cosplayed Rikku outfit, so I won't worry if parts of the costume give me a colossal pain in the ass, tempting me to simplify them into something that looks reasonably good and matches everything else. I saw a picture of someone dressed in a Berserker outfit with a plain white bikini and armor that was blue and sort of similar but rather plain, and the overall effect was still pretty cool.

Things to do:

- Find and purchase a sewing machine. I can actually afford my own this year. Yaaaay.
- Order fake fur.
- Figure out how to make stuff.
- ?????

Cool beans! I was thinking of going with Sculpey for the flat beads and buying big white round ones, and I just found some great articles on making costume armor out of craft foam and thin plastic sheeting, but if that doesn't work, I might have to bug you about this polymer stuff.

BTW, this gives me another eBay idea for ya - replicas of the jewelry that a popular anime or game character wears. You could also do this on commission if you wanted to. Not only that, if you're good at gradient dyeing, you could make some $$$ selling scarves for Rikku's thief outfit. That costume is going to be HUGE this year, I tells ya... ^_^
