Pretty good day
I got a lot of sleep last night.

An evil work-related task is, as far as I can tell, finito. w00t.

Check out this w00tness that somebody posted on cosplay.com. It appears that she made the finer gold details with fabric paint, but it looks incredibly professional. Though the embroidery test piece that I made last night came out decently, I'm now taking a second look at the idea of painting on the designs. Needless to say, that would require much less time, especially if I made a stencil (and I would because it would ensure neat and accurate work). Huzzah.

I solved the puzzle of how I'm going to manage to make a lined vest with trim sandwiched neatly between the lining on the front and bottom edges. I'll explain later if anyone is curious.

My Thera Cane came in the mail. I immediately used it to beat the hell out of some difficult-to-reach points in my back. Raising my arms over my head feels smoother already. This thing is definitely going to help my recovery.

Oh yeah, and bowling on Sunday was cool. My score was mediocre, but we bowled against a fun team, and I got to hear an amusingly Homestar Runner-ish karaoke rendition of "Should I Stay or Should I Go" through the wall from the bar next door.

Wow, that costume is of almost unimaginable w00tness!

Yes, it is. And it turns out that those swirly thingies aren't fabric paint after all - they're applique. I asked her how she got the edges to stay so neat (they don't appear to be turned or satin-stitched, and I'm pretty sure that the fabric she used has a tendency to fray - everything shiny, non-stretchy, and gold that I've come across is like that). Too bad she lives in Australia and probably won't see my post till the wee hours of the morn. I don't even have the necessary materials to do the sashes (I messed up cutting the fabric, and I want better white satin anyway, so I'm just ordering other stuff), so it's not like I need to know OMG RIGHT NOW, but I'm curious and impatient. =P
