Rest in peace, Tigger
When we learned this song at Carnivores, I couldn't help but bust on the lyrics. Some of them are pretty corny. Still...when sung by a choir...it's a beautiful requiem...and right now, I don't feel like listening to anything else.

(Tigger was one of my mom's cats. At 14 years of age, his health was severely deteriorating, so we just made the decision to put him to sleep. I know he was in pain, but it's still sad whenever it's time for a pet to go.)

I'm sorry. That always sucks. It's never easy to say goodbye to a pet. My precious Xenon was put down a few years ago and it still makes me cry sometimes. Our fur babies are so special to us. Unconditional love and something warm and purring to share our pillows with at night.

Thanks. I can't remember if Tigger took over the pillow (Chester does that in the morning every now and then, and I try to share it with him because it's just so cute when he flops there purring loudly), but he would actually go to sleep on my hip when I was sleeping on my side. Cuteness. ^_^

*big hugs* :( I wish pets had a lifespan as long as humans do.

(((hugs back))) Me too. Actually, some parrots can live up to a century, which is pretty cool...but I wish cats had that sort of longevity as well. I want to keep Chester and Cookie around forever.

Aw... *hugs*
That's the only bad thing about pets, it's so sad when they go ;_;

(((hugs))) Agreed. At least all the love and cuddles are well worth that final heartbreak, and we can always hold onto our memories, too.

14 years is a long wonderful time to have a kitty friend, though it just makes it worse when they're gone.

but still, all the love you get from a kitty makes it worthwhile.

*hug*

(((hugs))) He didn't actually live with Mom for 14 years - she took him in for a close friend who was moving out of state (I forget why she couldn't bring him with her, but it was a good reason). She had him for around 6 years, though, and he was loved every year of his life, which is what's most important.

Hi Gillian,
I am very sorry to hear about your kitty. I miss mine too...he was with us a long time.
I wanted to belatedly thank you very much for offering to help me out with moving. I got wrapped up in much craziness and was unable to really get in touch. But thanks again to you and Randy. I want you guys to come over and visit! I'm at 924 B Walnut St and my number is 861-6676

Thanks...and we'd love to see you! You're welcome at our place any time, too. I'm sort of reviving Bitch and Stitch on Saturdays. Julia (Josh's fiancee - I don't know if you've ever met her or not, but she's really cool) is coming over this Saturday and Stef might be, too. Feel free to show up whenever if you want, or we can hang out some other time. Maybe we can do the Wednesday bowling thingy again, too, now that I don't have Carnivores or cosplay insanity for a while.
